Add some shine to your child’s room with a metallic toy bin. See how metallic spray paint can transform an ordinary plastic bin that can store toys, stuffed animals and more.

  1. Clean the surface of the bin and allow it to thoroughly dry.
  2. Working over a drop cloth in a well-ventilated space, shake your can of Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic Spray Paint vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle.
  3. Hold can upright, 8-12” from the bin, and apply spray paint (we chose Turquoise) in a steady, back-and forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply two or more light coats of metallic spray paint a few minutes apart. For best results, apply several light coats rather than one heavy coat.
  4. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly for 24 hours before filling your metallic toy bin.
