Whether you want to organize kids' toys or craft supplies, chalkboard labeled containers will ensure there’s a place for everything.
- Sand the bins and wipe away sanding dust with a lint-free cloth.
- Working over a drop cloth, apply Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Spray Primer to each of the three bins. Be sure to follow the instructions on the can regarding preparation, application and drying times. Allow to fully dry.
- Apply two coats of Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Gloss Spray Paint in the color of your choice on the bins. Allow to paint to dry for a few minutes between coats, again following the instructions on the can.
- Once the spray paint is fully dry, use a synthetic paint brush to apply Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Paint to create a writable area on each bin. You can paint this freehand, use a stencil or use painter’s tape for a clean look. Apply a second coat of Chalkboard Paint if needed, letting the first coat dry for 4 hours before applying the next.
- Let the Chalkboard Paint dry for 3 days, and then condition the chalkboard surface by rubbing the side of a piece of chalk over it and erasing it.
- Now conditioned, the chalkboard labels on your bins are ready to be written on.
