Turn an unfinished workbench into a potting bench for your outdoor garden. See how DIYer Francois et Moi used Rust-Oleum® Stops Rust® Universal Bonding Primer and Rust-Oleum® Stops Rust® Spray Paint to turn an ordinary wooden workbench into an attractive potting bench.

Step 1. Lightly sand the unfinished wood workbench with #180-grit sandpaper and remove sanding dust with a lint-free cloth.

Step 2. Ensure you're in a well-ventilated area and cover your painting area with a drop cloth.

Step 3. Shake your can of Rust-Oleum® Universal® Bonding Primer vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the spray can upright 10-16" from the surface and start spraying, keeping the can in motion while using even strokes. Slightly overlap each stroke to ensure even coverage. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. Let dry.

Step 4. Apply Rust-Oleum® Stops Rust® Spray Paint in the color of your choice, following the steps above. Allow to dry for 24 hours before use.
