- Cut branches to the desired height for your mushrooms. Tapering one end of each may make them easier to pound into the ground. However, I used a shovel to loosen the dirt and stuck the branches into it.
- Apply primer to bowls and let dry.
- Spray-paint the bowls your first chosen color, inside and out. Apply a couple of coats to make sure they are protected since they will be outside. Let dry.
- Cut circles out of contact paper and stick to the outside of the bowls. The paper wrinkles a bit on the curved bowls, so really press it down.
- Apply spray paint in your second chosen color to the outside of the bowls. Let dry.
- After allowing to dry, remove the contact paper circles.
- Drill a hole in the bottom of the bowl and into the top of the branch. Put in a screw to hold the two together. My screw was a little over an inch long. Make sure you allow for the thickness of your bowl.
- There you have it!Some friends made themselves right at home under mine!
