Water and salt can damage your concrete driveway if it’s not sealed correctly. SEAL-KRETE Dry-Look Penetrating Concrete Sealer uses silane-siloxane technology to bond with concrete and form a watertight seal.
Step 1 Prep & Prime:
Proper surface preparation is critical to the success of all SEAL-KRETE coatings. The surface should be clean, dry, sound and free of dirt, dust, oil, wax and grease. You may need an oil stain remover such as SEAL-KRETE® Oil Stain Remover to lift stubborn oil stains. Pressure-washing is recommended.
Do not apply to painted or stained surfaces. Do not apply over solvent or oil-based stains. Make sure all cure and seal compounds have been removed. Repair all cracks and surface breaks. Cover windows, doors, etc., prior to application. Use caution when applying on windy days. Remove any overspray immediately with water. New concrete must cure for a minimum of 30 days.
Step 2 Apply:
This sealer is ready to use; do not dilute. Do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hours. Temperatures should not fall below 50°F (10°C) within 24 hours of application. Apply until saturated using a roller or low-pressure garden sprayer. Two coats are recommended. Must be applied wet on wet. Backroll after second coat. On vertical surfaces, apply from the bottom up and saturate well.
3/8” Nap Roller: Dampen roller, remove excess water, then saturate roller with product. Keep a wet edge while rolling. Do not allow to puddle, foam or run. While the first coat is still wet, apply a second coat to maximize protection. Remove any puddles by back rolling the entire surface area.
Pump Sprayer: Set at a fine spray and apply using a circular motion. To eliminate puddling or to achieve a more uniform finish, backroll immediately after spraying.
Professional HVLP Spray Applications: Pressure wash to remove all mildew. Inspect and repair mortar joints. Tape all windows using 2 mil plastic sheeting. Set air pressure to 25–35 psi using a stain tip .013. Apply two flood coats starting at the bottom and working up to the top, backrolling immediately. Keep cars a safe distance away as overspray is hard to remove.
Coverage: 150-400 sq. ft. per gallon, depending on surface porosity.
