  1. Find a spot outdoors and cover nearby items with a drop cloth or old sheets to protect them from spray mist
  2. If the plastic is new, wipe it down with paint thinner. If it's older, just clean with soap and water. Let dry.
  3. Apply one coat of the Rust-Oleum® Specialty Plastic Primer, following application directions on the can.
  4. Review the instructions (and additional project ideas) on the American Accents® Authentic Patina Decorative Finishing Kit. Spray on the patina base coat and let dry.
  5. Gently rub the surface with the enclosed abrasive pad.
  6. To apply the top coat, work in small areas (about 4 x4 sections). Brush on the patina finish and then dab with a damp paper towel to get that verdigris look.
  7. Let everything dry and then plant your favorite annuals.
