    • Old Sheets or Drop Cloth
    • Sandpaper

    • 3/4" Drill Bit
    • 1/2"-Thick Rope 30" Long
    • 10" x 6" x 1" Board
    • Painter's tape
    • Screwdriver
    • 4" Black House Numbers
    • Miter saw
    • Ruler
    • Pencil
    • Tack Cloth

  1. Using the ruler and pencil, mark 7" on the both sides of the length of the 10" board.
  2. Also mark 1 1/2" on the top from each side.
  3. Draw a straight line from the 7" mark to the 1 1/2" mark.
  4. Using the miter saw, cut according to your line. Repeat on both sides to create the look of a buoy.
  5. Drill a hole in the center of the buoy top. It should be 8 1/2" from the bottom.
  6. Sand surfaces of all wood. Remove dust.
  7. Spread old sheet or drop cloth on ground; lay wood on drop cloth.
  8. Using sweeping motions, apply multiple thin coats of paint in first chosen color. Let dry.
  9. Apply painter’s tape, covering areas that you want to keep the first chosen color. Let dry.
  10. Using sweeping motions, apply multiple thin coats of paint in second chosen color. Let dry.
  11. Remove painter’s tape.
  12. Thread rope through hole and tie in a knot.
  13. Fasten house number in the center of the square area of the wood block with a screwdriver.
