Tack Cloth
- Using the ruler and pencil, mark 7" on the both sides of the length of the 10" board.
- Also mark 1 1/2" on the top from each side.
- Draw a straight line from the 7" mark to the 1 1/2" mark.
- Using the miter saw, cut according to your line. Repeat on both sides to create the look of a buoy.
- Drill a hole in the center of the buoy top. It should be 8 1/2" from the bottom.
- Sand surfaces of all wood. Remove dust.
- Spread old sheet or drop cloth on ground; lay wood on drop cloth.
- Using sweeping motions, apply multiple thin coats of paint in first chosen color. Let dry.
- Apply painter’s tape, covering areas that you want to keep the first chosen color. Let dry.
- Using sweeping motions, apply multiple thin coats of paint in second chosen color. Let dry.
- Remove painter’s tape.
- Thread rope through hole and tie in a knot.
- Fasten house number in the center of the square area of the wood block with a screwdriver.
