Don’t let an ugly exhaust pipe bring your car down! Here’s a quick (and lasting) fix to make your exhaust pipe look brand new with a few coats of High Heat spray paint.

  1. PREPARE: Always work in a well-ventilated area and use a drop cloth to protect from overspray. Clean your exhaust pipe with Wax & Tar Remover or any fast-acting cleaner by spraying a liberal coat over the entire area, letting it stand for one minute, and then wiping it away with a lint-free cloth. Once the exhaust pipe is clean, cover any surrounding parts of the car that you don’t want to paint with painter’s tape and masking paper.
  2. PRIME: To prime the exhaust pipe, first shake your can of High Heat Primer for one minute after the mixing ball starts to rattle. Hold the can 8-12” away from the pipe and spray in a sweeping motion. Apply 2-3 light coats, allowing a few minutes in between each. Then, let the primer dry for one hour.
  3. PAINT: Using the same technique you used to apply the primer, apply 2-3 light coats of High Heat spray paint to the exhaust pipe. Let the paint dry for 1-2 hours before moving on to the curing process.
  4. CURE: Follow the directions on the High Heat spray’s label to complete the curing process.
  5. FINISH: Once the exhaust pipe is completely cured, it’s ready to hit the road!
