See how Melanie from Southern Crush At Home turned an old cabinet door into an elegant ottoman tray using Watco® Butcher Block Oil + Stain.
- Clean your cabinet door to remove any dirt or residue. Then, prepare the surface by sanding it with a #150-grit sandpaper, followed by a #220-grit sandpaper, in the direction of the wood grain. We recommend Gator Finishing products. Wipe away sanding dust with a tack cloth or a clean, lint-free cloth.
- Working over a drop cloth in a well-ventilated space, thoroughly mix your can of Watco Butcher Block Oil + Stain and apply to the wood surface with a clean, lint-free cloth.
- If you wish to recoat, wait six hours and then lightly sand with a #400-grit sandpaper before recoating.
- Once your ottoman tray is fully dry, attach handles with a drill.
