- Sand all the wood and remove dust from surface using the tack cloth.
- Spread out the old sheet or drop cloth and place the wood on it.
- Stain half of the wood pieces with one color stain and half the pieces with the other color stain. Remove excess stain with paper towels. Allow to dry.
- Spread out the dowel rods on old sheet or drop cloth.
- Using a sweeping motion, spray-paint the dowels with multiple thin coats of paint. Allow to dry.
- Lay out the wood blocks facedown on a clean dry surface.
- Lay five vertical dowels on the back of the blocks at varied heights and affix with the brad nailer to the back of the wooden blocks.
- Lay the four horizontal dowels at varied places on the back of the wood art.
- Measure and cut the horizontal pieces to fit between the vertical dowels and affix with the brad nailer.
- Hang on the wall with picture-hanging hooks and enjoy!
