Spray paint is a simple way to give your kitchen an updated look. We gave a kitchen island cart a new pop of color in just a few steps.
- Choose a well-ventilated work space and cover the floor with a drop cloth to protect it from overspray.
- Remove all of the hardware from the kitchen cart and use painter’s tape to cover any areas you don't want to paint.
- Shake your can of Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint (we used Satin Deep Forest) for 1 minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the can 10-16” away from the cart and apply the spray paint in a steady, back-and-forth motion. Apply 2-3 light coats of paint a few minutes apart.
- If you want to update your cart’s hardware, use Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic Spray Paint to give it a new color.
- Let the paint dry for 1 hour to the touch and completely for 24 hours before using the cart.
TIP: Use Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Primer in White and Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Clear Topcoat to give your kitchen island cart additional protection and longer-lasting color.
