A handprint Santa on a Mason jar is the perfect one-of-a-kind gift or addition to your own holiday décor. Learn how to paint custom handprint Santas with the help of Rust-Oleum paints.
- Make sure your Mason jars are clean and dry.
- Over a drop cloth, turn the jars upside-down and spray with Rust-Oleum® Painter's Touch® 2X Ultra Cover® Primer, following to the directions on the can.
- Let dry for at least 30 minutes.
- Apply Rust-Oleum® Painter's Touch® 2X Ultra Cover® spray paint to each jar, following the directions on the cans.
- Let the jars dry at least 30 minutes before turning them over.
- Once the jars are dry, dip your hand into Testors Craft white acrylic paint and place your handprint on each jar, with fingers facing the bottom of the jar. This forms Santa’s beard.
- Let dry at least 30 minutes.
- While the white paint dries, attach ribbon to the mouth of the jar with glue dots.
- Once the white paint is dry, use Testors Craft red acrylic paint to make Santa’s hat and the acrylic paint color of your choice to paint his face.
- Once Santa’s face is dry, use the black marker to create facial features and outline the details.
- Add a pom-pom to the end of the hat with a glue dot.
- Display or gift your completed handprint Santa jars.
TIP: Fill your jars with lights for an added effect.
