Personalize a wood plaque and wood crate this holiday for that special someone. Start with a bare wood crate and plaque and use Varathane's barn red wood stain to give it holiday flair.
- Lightly sand all bare wood and remove sanding dust with a lint-free cloth.
- Use a lint-free cloth to apply Varathane Premium Fast Dry Wood Stain in Barn Red to all bare wood. If a lighter color is needed, wipe off excess stain right away. For a darker color, let the stain sit for 2-3 minutes before wiping off excess.
- Let stained wood dry for at least 1 hour.
- Using a synthetic paint brush, topcoat with Varathane Ultimate Polyurethane Water Based.
- Let the polyurethane dry for approximately 1 hour.
- Use Testors Enamel paint markers to add a design or with lettered stencils to personalize the rectangular wood plaque. Let paint marker dry for about 30 minutes.
- Hot glue the plaque to the wood crate and fill with gifts.
