    • Old Sheets or Drop Cloth
    • Sandpaper: grit 220
    • (5) 1” x 6” Pieces of Scrap Wood
    • Lint-Free Cloth
    • Pocket Hole Jig
    • Drill
    • 1 1/4” Screws
    • Foam Craft Brush or Paintbrush
    • Paper towels
    • (5) Decorative Hooks
    • (2) Sawtooth Picture Hangers
    • Hammer

  1. Spread old sheets or a drop cloth on the ground outdoors to protect surfaces from enamel drips.
  2. Sand the front and sides of all five scrap wood pieces with 120-grit sandpaper. 
  3. Remove the sanding dust from wood surfaces with a lint-free cloth.
  4. Attach the wood pieces together in a nonparallel pattern, using the Jig, drill and screws. 
  5. Set the wood rack on the drop cloth, and apply protective enamel to the front and sides with a foam craft brush or paintbrush. 
  6. While the enamel is still wet, remove excess with paper towels to allow the wood grain to show through.  
  7. Allow the enamel to dry 4-6 hours or overnight.
  8. Attach a hook in the center of each piece of wood.
  9. Attach 2 sawtooth hangers on opposite sides of the back of the rack with a hammer, then hang it on the wall.
